The new firmware fixed the problem and my Furuno is now communicating with my Raymarine autopilot. It will follow a track with an alphanumerical name. I did not try things on the water yet, just on the boat lift. I was not sure which sentences to turn on and if the autopilot should follow heading from the ev1 or the gps. The radar was a need, the fast redraw 7000 series is more of a want. I have both the 4212 and the 5212 on board now and I think they will do fine with the open array radar. I wish they displayed the international return colors red, yellow and green the 7000 series displays, however neither one provides echo track like the Furuno provides. So I think I'll make due and Waite for the next generation plotter before I upgrade. Colin, thanks again for the offer, let's keep in touch.
